Custom gourmet caramel apples turn into beautiful works of art at www.berrybeautifulcreations.com. I met the owner and creator of these tasty gifts, Ana Gonzalez, at this month’s Comadrazo. She brought samples of her creations for all of us to enjoy.  I don’t know how anyone would want to break the apples.  They are toooo beautiful to eat!  Ana starts with a delicious Granny Smith Apple. After a dip in decadent caramel you have your choice of white or dark chocolate. She then personalized it with a design and or edible picture. YUMMM!

These are great party favors for Quinceañeras, Weddings, Baby Shower, Bridal Shower, Tea Party, Kids Party, Birthday, Anniversary, Corporate Parties, Fundraisers, thank you gifts, gifts for any occasion, centerpieces, promotional items, etc… The list is endless.  Just let your imagination run wild.  She also offers chocolate dipped strawberries with a custom design. I invite you to connect with Ana by visiting her at www.berrybeautifulcreations.com.

XV Magazine Launch Party

An Orange County exclusive magazine designed to help families plan a Quinceañera, a traditional Latin American 15th birthday party. This free bilingual publication is available at 7-Eleven and Food For Less stores in Santa Ana, Anaheim, Costa Mesa and Garden Grove. The May issue will be out soon.  Don’t forget to get your copy.

Last night was their very successful XV Magazine Launch Party at the Anaheim White House.  Luis Aguilar, the creative genius behind XV Magazine, announced the magazine’s quick success that they have to restock the stores every 3 to 5 days with a minimum of 500 copies per store.  WOW!  Mitzy the amazing Mexican designer for the celebrities, showcased 3 of his fabulous Quinceañera dress designs.  I wish I was 15 again just so I could wear one of his beautiful creations!

Everyone I met had a wonderful time and all were excited to be a part of it. I must give major kudos to DJ Keven.  He has a great ear for music and volume level.  ;)

We wish XV Magazine lots of success and look forward to working together for many more years to come! FELICIDADES!  CONGRATULATIONS!

Alternative to Rice, Balloons, Confetti, etc…

I love lavender and now even more after reading how it’s a wonderful green alternative to rice, balloons and confetti at weddings, quinceañeras or any event.  Lavender buds are fragrant, sustainable, natural, biodegradable, unique, go a long way and look very pretty.  They are also a great alternative to bubbles, butterflies and birdseed. After the church/ceremony, the wind will do all the clean up by blowing it away. No issues about killing birds or slip hazards.

You can also mix it with some grass seed to make it go farther since the lavender buds are very light. Sprinkle some lavender at the church steps/entrance to ceremony  so the fragrance escapes as the guests step on it.  If you have an outdoor ceremony, you can sprinkle some down the aisle too.

So where can you purchase lavender buds?  Here’s a family owned and run business in Northern California, Lavender Fanatic.

La Cueva del Oso – Sharing Words for a Cause

Friday evening, my family and I attended a beautiful and empowering event.  The event was about sharing our words of encouragement, poetry, music, spoken word & community unity for two GREAT causes! OC Dream Team and Barrio Writers & Actors Guild. This event took place in Santa Ana, CA at Calacas on 4th Street on April 9, 2010.

In Alan Woo’s words, here’s a wonderful summary… “Abandoned and neglected, young voices rise to speak out about social injustice, overcoming barriers, to be accepted, and loved. Barrio Writers will not be silenced. Sarah Rafael Garcia, Yenni and Ben giving kids hope”.  Congratulations on your book and documentary Barrio Writers!  Can’t wait for the “Movie Premier” night!  That should be another fundraising event! **hint**hint**hint**  - Saludos!!  For more photos, become our FAN

p.s. Here is a clip of one of the Barrio Writers, Illoheem and his rap song which he wrote between the ages of 14 and 16. http://vimeo.com/10855799
